KoveScan is an AI-powered food allergen and ingredient safety application operated by KoveScan ("we," "us," or "our"). The service helps users identify allergens and ingredients in food products by analyzing product labels using AI and official food safety data sources.
KoveScan is a decision-support tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. See Section 9 (Medical Disclaimer) for important safety information.
You must be at least 13 years old to use KoveScan. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be responsible for your use of the service.
By using KoveScan, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or are used for illegal purposes.
KoveScan offers a free plan with limited features. No payment is required for the free plan.
KoveScan Premium is available as a monthly subscription ($4.99/month) or an annual subscription ($39.99/year). Premium plans unlock additional scans, advanced analysis features, and recall alerts.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
We may offer a free trial period for Premium. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be charged automatically.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from the app's Settings screen. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to Premium features until then.
We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at billing@kovescan.com within 14 days of the charge.
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
You agree to use KoveScan only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
The core scanning feature of KoveScan requires access to your device camera and/or photo library. By granting these permissions, you authorize the app to capture and process images for ingredient analysis purposes. Images are processed for analysis and are not stored permanently without your explicit action to save a scan.
You can revoke camera and photo library access at any time through your device settings. Revoking access will disable the scanning feature.
KoveScan and its content, features, and functionality (including the app, website, branding, and underlying AI models) are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of any content you upload (such as photos of product labels). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using KoveScan, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
KoveScan is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including:
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, KoveScan and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KoveScan and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and costs (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, for any illegal activity, or if we determine that your use harms other users or the service. Upon termination, your right to use KoveScan ceases immediately.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Account deletion is subject to our data retention practices described in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of KoveScan after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of KoveScan shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may bring a claim in small claims court for disputes within the applicable jurisdictional limits.
